Thinking Outside the Box
Every once in a while we see something that catches our eyes. These photos are from people who can Think Outside the Box by coming up with ideas that maybe we had never even thought about.
Here is a novel way to utilize a R/C Car Chassis. The wheels have been removed, the rear axle splits into two drives for the tracks while the front steering arms now provide a braking system to lock each track individually to provide steering. This was displayed at the Oxton Show in May.
One of the videos on the site - "Meccano Excavator - Very Nice" under Miscellaneous Videos, show the Meccano tracks being driven by standard Meccano Sprocket Wheels - I had not seen this done before. So, using this method you have a wider selection of drive wheels to choose from. As an example, Tanks and the larger Bulldozers use two sizes of wheels.
