Marine Steam Engine
Sep. 2,2015 - This model is based on the one shown in the 1950's No.7-8 Manual and was built with Dark Green and Yellow parts.
The unit was built as a display model and is driven by a 24 vdc Geared Motor through a variable Regulated Power Supply. I usually run it from 16 to 30 volts to obtain a different sound of the cranks. These engines were designed to run at a slow speed. It can run all day, never even getting warm. The unit has been highly modified from the original, mainly decking and stairway filled in, Flywheel beefed up, Crankshafts re-done and a sturdy based added for ease of transportation.
